When you are working out, it is important to keep a specific exercise order. It is recommended to use dumbbells first, then barbells and finally, machines. The dumbbells will fatigue your smaller muscles first before your larger muscles. Therefore, your larger muscles will not be fatigued when you reach the machines.

To start a fitness routine, take your dog out for a walk. Your furry friend will always be up for a walk. Do not go overboard at first. Walk around your neighborhood, venturing further afar when your fitness levels improve. This is a benefit of having a canine companion.

Buy your own exercise machine for your home. If you don't have a gym nearby, or you just are not comfortable with the idea of working out in public, buying your own equipment may be your best bet. Many online stores offer inexpensive, but effective, machines that are meant to fit into your home, whatever size it may be.

Have a physical with your doctor before starting a fitness program. This is especially important if you have high blood pressure, smoke, have diabetes or are overweight. The doctor will be able to tell you if there are any kinds of activities that you should avoid in the beginning.

The hardest part usually is getting started. Once you have followed your fitness program for a week or two, it will become second nature. Habit is a wonderful thing. It begins to carry you. The program becomes a part of your daily life, and fitness and good health are the result.
